Designed and implemented a parallel combinatorial
optimization tool which: [ECRC]
reduces speculative or-parallelism
introduces a new form of parallelism which improves convergence to
good solutions
introduces another form of parallelism to speed up the proof of
optimality for suboptimal solutions
integrates the new forms of parallelism with or-parallelism
demonstrably improves the exploitation of parallelism on problems
such as pilot training curriculum optimization, job-shop scheduling
and radio astronomy
Many other improvements to ECLPS in order to support the above
tool and Parsee, as well as to improve performance. [ECRC]
The ParForce project has been indispensable to the development of
the parallel ECLPS platform: [ECRC]
a study of parallel speedup anomalies helped us to better advise
users on programming strategies
the results were of great benefit to the development of the APPLAUSE
applications
significantly better exploitation of parallelism in ECLPS has
resulted
