/usr/sbin/vold[287]: problem unmounting /vol ; Resource temporarily
unvailable
who will indicate what this mean ?
I have no floppy driver or cdrom attached.
Thanks for your advise .
The summary:
---------------------
I have received four mail so far . thanks to Rene OCCELLI ,
Chris Marble , Satish and bismark . I am now sure that's a vold
bug . So I removed the vold_startup_script from the rc2.d directory.
Follows are some answers.

You can move /etc/init.d/voldmgt out to preventing it from starting.

It's a known problem. Has to do with the order partitions are
unmounted on shutdown. Nothing to worry about. My machine does it too.
-- Chris Marble - HMC UNIX Systems Manager, chris_marble@hmc.edu My opinions are my own and probably don't represent anything anyway.---------------------- Hi, The vold manager is a background program ( automatically started at boot) which automatically mount cdrom et give the possibility to mount floppy (simply via filemgr). In your case ( and in my case on some machines) there is no cdrom nor floopy it's just a message (sure a bug) that says that vold founds no appropriate device .. Ignore it. You can suppress it by removing the script S92volmgt int the /etc/rc2.d directory. In my case , I keep this script, because the day I attach a cdrom to the machine, it will be automatically mounted.

-------------------- The vold dameon is not responding to the shutdown procedure. It is normal in most Solaris installations.
