Progress in this Period

• The granularity control system for logic languages proposed in the last period has been improved in several ways
  (D.WP1.3.1.M3.4, presented at SAS'94).
• Improved the lower bound cost analysis by increasing the accuracy of the non-failure analysis and implementing it
  (D.WP1.3.1.M3.1).

• Improved the cost analysis of divide-and-conquer programs
  (D.WP1.3.1.M3.2), for which the previous analysis obtained very conservative bounds.

• Improved the term size computation techniques
  (D.WP1.3.1.M3.3, presented at ICLP'95).

• Implemented a first prototype of totally automatic system: integrated modes, size measure and type analysis (using KUL Types).

• Performed an assessment of the techniques (D.WP2.3.2.M3.2, invited submission to JSC, under revision).
• In collaboration with ECRC, the granularity analysis/control module has been applied to the ECLPS system.
