• Cost analysis: integrated CASLOG (upper bound analysis) with Ciao-Prolog, supplying automatically mode information.

• Preliminary implementation of program transformation: using CASLOG procedures to obtain size and cost information needed for the transformation (no optimizations).

• Proposed conditions for controlling parallelism based on both upper and lower bounds on task granularity.

• Proposed optimizations of program transformations to reduce the run-time overhead of granularity control.

• Extended the techniques to OR-Parallelism.
