- LP/CLP offer great potential for parallelism:
- Two alternative ways to satisfy crew(peter,P): two clauses.
- For each clause, several goals have to be satisfied.
- Or-parallelism: different processors proceed
simultaneously with different alternatives.
- Present in general search problems, enumeration part of
constraint problems, etc.
- And-parallelism: different processors proceed
simultaneously with different clause body goals.
- Comprises
traditional parallelism (e.g., divide and conquer, loop
parallelization, etc.).
- Concurrent languages also generally based on and-parallelism.
