I have the OS to 2.5.1 and that removed my problem too.
Here's the summary. Thanks go to :

1. Don't know about this particular application but we received a similar
error running a package called Satellite Toolkit (STK) if certain applications
were running or if a user had tailored his CDE extensively. In our case, it
seems that STK absolutely requires certain colors to be available and if
another app grabs them first, STK bombs...

2. I assume that you mean that your Ultra-1 is really running 2.5.1 or
higher. In any event, there are *several* openwin patches in the
recommended 2.4 patch cluster. It might not be a bad idea if
you applied the cluster.
(Actually, a better idea would be to bring the 20 up to 2.5.1 - it's
a far better rev of solaris, and faster. Assuming htere isn't something
holding you back on the 20...)

Original Question
-----------------
Hi Gurus,
I am working on an SS20, Solaris 5.4. Thru Cadds5 software
I generate some plotter files. Then I view these files
thru ImageTool as PostScript file. On my Ultra-1 (Solaris
5.4) it works perfectly, but on the SS20, ImageTool dies
with the foll. error message in the console window.
------------------------------------------------------------------
X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
Major opcode of failed request: 129 ()
Minor opcode of failed request: 2
Resource id in failed request: 0x0
Serial number of failed request: 2406
Current serial number in output stream: 2407
X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
Major opcode of failed request: 129 (Adobe-DPS-Extension)
Minor opcode of failed request: 2 ()
Serial number of failed request: 2406

Do I need to install some patch? Is there any site which lists
error messages and their solutions?
Regards,
Pravin
