======================================================================
Greetings Sun Managers,
I have recently upgraded my Sparc 2 server from Solaris 2.4
to Solaris 2.5.1 (with all the recommended patches).
Everything appears to be working correctly with the exception
of the outgoing mail services. Anytime a user sends mail
to the outside world, it is bounced back w/ a message
regarding the host not being found:
----- The following addresses had delivery problems -----
<nature@logannature.org> (unrecoverable error)
----- Transcript of session follows -----
550 <nature@logannature.org>... Host unknown (Name server:
logannature.org: host not found)
Running sendmail from the command line results in:
ROOT> /usr/lib/sendmail -qv
<nature@logannature.org>... Host unknown (Name server: logannature.org:
host not found)
ROOT>
I am imagining that I do not have something set up correctly in
the sendmail.cf file, however, I cannot figure what.
Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
I will summarize.

This actually turned out to be a simple fix:
For one reason or another, my /etc/nsswitch.conf file was missing
the 'dns' entry for hosts, and therefore was not able to do any
DNS lookups.
