I have Solaris 2.5.1 installed on my system and I'm trying to use the
automounter but with no success. What I did was add /- to auto_master,
tabbed over and add auto_direct, created the auto_direct file and
included /usr# hostname:/usr#. I commented out the +auto_master b/c I
didn't want to use NIS. Now when I cd to the mount point and do an ls
it just hangs. what am I doing wrong? I got the O'Reilly book right
here in front of me and . . . This seems so simple I feel stupid even
having to ask about it. Also, everytime I type automount -v at the
command line when I think I have set things up properly, the daemon
won't stay running it just conks out after a min. or two. However, I
can mount the remote filesystem by hand. help :(
