As an alternative, Sun support said that I could manually comment out
the reference to sf in /kernel/drv/ssd.conf.  I would have to remember
to uncomment it if we ever added a Photon storage device.
		$ grep sf ssd.conf
		name="ssd" parent="sf" target=0;
