At end, I do that!

****************** For Use a SS4 like a XTerminal ***************************
SOLUTION 1 (from Giles.Carre@ens-lyon.fr):
I know two directions :
· use xkernel, a small kernel and X Window set of applications:
ftp://ftp.ctr.columbia.edu/pub/Xkernel
· install your SS4 as true workstations, then transform to
X Terminals.
In the first case, you must have a boot server, but your SS20
isn't in this case.
In the second case, you may install each SS4 as standalones,
then initialize them as X Term. I have a script to do this last
thing:
ftp://ftp.ens-lyon.fr/pub/CRI/ws2xterm
SOLUTION 2 (from rich@brake.demon.co.uk):
If You are running Solaris 2.x and CDE it's easy.
Look in the CDE answerbook.
-----Ok.
I try the Solution 1(second point), it transforms the SS4 to an XTerminal,
changing some services (renaming, moving system files) in the SS4.
The name of scripts that do it are: ws2xterm & xterm2ws, located on
ftp://ftp.ens-lyon.fr/pub/CRI/ws2xterm
(names are very explicitly :) ).
But don't works totaly. It is something else to do in the SS20:
****************** XDM Protocol ***************************
Then, I ask:

Many people anwered to this question:
I need to run dtlogin or xdm in the SS20 to get my SS4 connect.
To connect in the SS4:
/usr/openwin/bin/X -query IP-address(SS20)
justiny@cluster.engr.subr.edu says:

YES! It works with IP adress too!.
In the SS20 (with xtmgr) configure the SS4 as a XTerm.
RAVKRISH.IN.ORACLE.COM.ofcmail@in.oracle.com says:

And all works well :)
I tried to use xdm & dtlogin (if CDE installed). I prefer the dtlogin, the
login screen is more beautiful that old XDM :)
Thanxs all.
